Any Mini Clubman Owners??

I’m looking at the Mini Clubman and was wondering if anyone here has one? Pros/Cons? Looking to buy a vehicle in the next 6 months and really like this car.

My dad has one. He loves his. Fun to drive, dependable, easy to park, but still has plenty of room in the back for stuff.

One of my friends also has one, and he loves his, too. He’s really very tall, and it’s perfectly comfortable for him, if that’s a restriction for you.

IMO, the Mini design is showing its age. That, and the clubman is just hideous…

my brother has one…its pretty fun to drive, but I did notice that where the back doors meet creates a blind spot.

what else are you considering? have you looked at the subaru wrx? the volvo c30? the bmw 1 series? or the honda crz?

It’s kind of a love-it-or-hate-it sort of car.

I test drove one, but with the salesman in the front seat with me, and two friends in the back seat, it didn’t have much oomph on the freeway.

I love mine - have had it for a year. After being chained to a minivan for 12 years, the MINI feels incredibly spritely. It’s just fun to drive, and it makes people smile at me :), so what’s not to love? I couldn’t have done with a regular MINI, but the station wagon aspect of this one is great for dogs, trips to Goodwill, etc. My very tall children fit easily in the backseat, too.

I’ve had no issues with mine, except that the used version I bought has the very stiff, upgraded wheels and tires - I could definitely live without them. The local dealer is amazing, though I may be singing another tune about maintenance after the car comes out of warranty; it is made by BMW, and I know they can be expensive to repair, like any other European auto.

I loved the look of it and craved one.

But I didn’t like the price, nor the gas mileage… so made my choice from among the Honda FIT, Nissan Versa, Scion XB and Toyota Matrix. Chose the Versa and love love love it. But it’s not nearly so cool as the mini Clubman.

I want a countryman.

I was doing the comparison between the Clubman and the Countryman and it just confused me even more, although I do like the individual bucket seats of the Countryman and the one piece back door. DH leaning towards the Subaru Legacy but I think they are overpriced for the average fuel mileage.

I passed a Countryman today on the road. It is definitely bigger than the Clubman. Not quite as cute. Taller, wider, looks plumper. From a distance you think, “Is that a MINI?” Then you think not. Then when you are next to it you say "I’ll be darned that IS a MINI.

I went from a minivan to a VW bug 8 years ago. I need a little bigger. I had seen the plans for the Countryman and figured this year I would go for it. But that is not going to happen. So I will drool and drive the bug a little longer. In 2 1/2 years my youngest graduates from college. Maybe then. I can dream.

How much snow do you get? The Mini owners I know here have had to put on snow tires, but our side streets are often packed snow because it is too cold for the salt to melt the snow.

I am a big fan of all wheel drive in our climate. My sister’s front wheel drive can’t do nearly as well as my subaru.

The Countryman comes all wheel drive. There was just a commercial on for it. Two neighbors were shoveling snow The neighbor in the middle had this large mound of snow in the driveway. Suddenly an engine revs up and out of this snow came a Countryman. Drove right through it, past the neighbors. Neighbors were none to happy. The announcer says "Do you have all wheel drive? The Countryman does.’

I do not have any snow where I am.

I was sure the " mini clubman" was going to be something along the lines of the [" fun cooker"](<a href=“The Fun Cooker! | If you love 30 rock, then you'll love this… | Flickr”>http://www.■■■■■■■■■■/photos/kridgway/3351128159/</a>)

The mini is getting supersized…before you know it, it will be the size of a real BMW!

Supersized mini will lose the charm. I just got a basic mini. I love it.
