Any neurologists in residence? Or experience with uncommon headache conditions?

There is such a vast wealth of knowledge and expertise on CC so I thought I would ask here for info.

I am looking for information on a specific headache condition (nerve related) that I would prefer to discuss in private - via a PM. It does not concern me, so I am trying to be respectful of privacy concerns.

Thank you in advance. Please PM me if you may be able to offer info/help.

Trigeminal neuralgia?

Trigeminal neuralgia? I personally had classic symptoms – the pain is excruciating. I insisted to my dentist that it was related to a recent filling. He denied, until the tooth abscessed two weeks later and the trigeminal neuralgia symptoms vanished forever. My own GP said, when she referred me to a neurologist, that the pain is so severe, overwhelming, and incapacitating that many people consider suicide. Luckily, my bout was only 3 weeks.

Yes, Trigem is a horribly painful disorder. Fortunately it now is frequentlymanaged by anticonvulsants. Sometimes surgery is indicated.
