Received acceptance w/o scholarship 1 week ago Saturday! Received deans scholarship yesterday!!

Congratulations!!!

so are they doing another wave of scholarships? annd are the presidential/trustee/dean scholarships all gone now?

^I think all the acceptances have been sent out. A lot of applicants are getting the “sorry, you didn’t get P/T” letters, and we haven’t heard about any more acceptance packages rolling in for a while now. Maybe there will be another wave though, who knows…

Hi everyone! This is my first post on here so hopefully I will do this right. We live in Florida and my daughter has not received any letter at all. She applied in mid November. Her friend, who is NMSF but has lower GPA and not as strong EC’s, did get an early acceptance. Both of them were national winners of NCTE writing award. My daughter applied to Annenberg. I’m thinking my daughter is going to be one of the missing letter applicants from what I have been reading. She’s staying positive for a March acceptance! If anyone has any other info for applicants who have not heard anything and did apply before Dec. 1st I’d appreciate hearing from you. Thanks!

I was accepted last Saturday and received a letter today in NJ telling me I will get the NMF Presidential Scholarship if I advance to the finalist stage and put USC as my first choice.

Congrats lgsr. That’s the same letter my son received.

Congrats on the acceptance letters everyone :D

Are these scholarships that they are mailing out only for freshmen transfers so far?

My D received a letter and email last week to interview for the Town and Gown, but still no acceptance letter. Do they interview students that do not get accepted? She also received the no president/trustee letter. She does not have the explore button either?

^Do you have to set up an interview to get any of their scholarships? I am a little confused by this interview process.

LAST QUESTION! are the application statuses any clue as to what’s going on with our applications? because i got this:

"The University of Southern California is pleased to offer the ability of students to receive online messages regarding the status of their application. However, all decision notifications are made via postal mail.

We are unable to process the status of your application at this time. Please try again later, or Contact Us with any questions or concerns you might have."

& it’s lowkey making me kind of worried… before it said we have your common app + supplement or i can’t even remember… i think i’m just paranoid because i didn’t get the letter, & even without the letter, should i still submit mid year grades?

Ngarcia3 - USC does the inviting to the interviews.

alliegator - Yes, app status does give clues but not in the way you are thinking. It changes when admissions has something to add to your status. S’s status changed to having an “admitted students events” button and the mid-year grades button disappeared. I’m thinking that they are working on your file by the status you have right now. If you feel you are not sure if something is missing, then give a call. I would still submit mid-year grades. At S’s school - all common app schools are processed to have mid-year grades automatically sent.

does anyone know if being chosen for town and gown interview has an impact on admissions?

balimom, I think the town and gown interview having an impact on our admission is a little wishful thinking…same situation here, interviewing without admission
but I HOPE it does!

Hope is always a good thing!!! Good luck to you!

:) Thanks balimom! Good luck to you too!!!
