Ummmm. You don’t go to a wait list if you run out of spots. You only go to a wait list if you have unfilled spots. Yes, USC puts its excess acceptances (or the low-stat acceptances) into the Spring semester, but I have never figured out what it does if it has too few acceptances – what has USC done in the past to fill the unfilled spots? As far as I can tell, they pull forward into Fall the people otherwise given Spring slots. That’s where the buffer is, so perhaps they will do that again this year.

This statement is incorrect. Please consult the stats thread from last year and check out the qualifications of those posting Spring acceptances. I can assure you that they were VERY well-qualified applicants and would not be considered “low-stat” by any measure.

Do they send the “did not get the pres/trustee scholarship” letter to everyone who applied before Dec. 1? Does anyone know when the next round of acceptances will go out and what they will be?

“Mysterious Letter of Nothing” - that’s a good one - my daughter got one today. But she got
accepted with Honors at Entrance to LMU earlier this week and invited to apply to their honors program, so she feels pretty good while waiting to hear from USC and other schools.

1) Does USC send out admissions in an order depending on which school you applied to? Like doViterbi or Marshall admissions come out quicker than lesser applied to schools like Davis or Price?

2) And if you didn’t recieve a letter about not making the presidential/trustee scholarships or the actual acceptance, then what’s wrong with you! LOOOL! all of my friends who didn’t get admitted/admitted w/ interview option have gotten the letter sooo i feel like something’s wrong with my application now… my stats were pretty low so i wasn’t expecting anything… does this mean that i’m COMPLETELY out for scholarships & letters are only being mailed to the people who actually have a chance at the deans scholarship, or is it generally sent to everyone

I feel like I will never stop saying this: my son did not get that letter. Who knows why. He was admitted in mid-March. He even got a small music scholarship.

wait did someone answer this already? i didnt see an answer/: but then again I kind of skimmed through this thread cause theres just so much

also, i live in northern california and my friends have gotten both their acceptances and rejection letters. if I havent gotten any, what does that mean? is that good or bad?

^No rejection letters have been mailed! Please be careful of spreading misinformation! Only acceptances for Presidential/Trustee scholarship candidates and recipients of Deans scholarships have been mailed so far, as have letters telling students they are not in the running for those scholarships… but are still being considered for admission.

In the past, mailings do not seem to have much to do with the various schools, if anything.

I have not gotten a we’ll-send-you-a-letter-telling-you-if-you’re-accepted-or-not-in-March letter yet and I live in NorCal. I’m applying for the RHP program…would that be affecting anything in terms of mail-getting?

oh sorry jazz. thats what i meant by rejection letter - a letter saying you didnt get a presidential/trustee scholarship. so if i dont get a letter saying i got it/didnt get the scholarship, then what does that mean?

^ Some people in the past have reported that they never got that letter. Some people simply don’t receive it, for whatever reason. There are so many applicants, it’s bound to happen I guess. It doesn’t seem like an indication you have been rejected or not, I think it’s just a system error. I read earlier today someone’s son didn’t get that letter but was admitted in March even with a small music scholarship.

“One of the other RHP applicants reported getting a letter a few days ago though, so I’m a little confused right now.”
Its possible that RHP applicant was accepted or was offered a scholarship.
The RHP is highly competitive and most applicants do not get in.

Okay, last time. Until the next time (regarding not getting the “no scholarship letter”), because I guess one page was a bit too far back to look. :
