Any NMFs shared finalist status with GT?

im pretty sure merit scholarships have already been given out and I’m thinking there are probably hundreds of NAtional Merit finalists already admitted. My son was admitted EA. Any sense in sending the finalist letter? I do remember he applied for Honors, I don’t know if it would have any bearing there either?

I believe the College Board is responsible for notifying colleges of students’ finalist status. As long as Georgia Tech is listed at your 1st choice by May 1st, you shouldn’t have to do anything else.

Son is still undecided so I didn’t know if it had any bearing on any merit aid. I think I read on their website for lack of a different way of putting it, there is no aid for NMF but I didn’t know if it had any bearing on getting into the Honors Program or other merit aid.

Georgia Tech no longer participates in National Merit so it is of no point to list as first choice.

Right. But I still wondered if it had any Honors Program bearing.
