Anybody from New England who knows anything about it? Has anyone heard of it? How is it? How are the professors? The students? The school as a whole?
Any and all opinions are appreciated :)

I’ve heard of it, know where it is, and know (to my knowledge) 3 people who went there at one time or another. The location is very good, near a lot of other colleges and universities and right in Boston. The problem is, I think the school has changed pretty radically over the last 20 or 30 years or so. I think it used to be primarily a 2-yr. technology school, pretty much (if not completely) all-male, and, if I recall correctly, the students were heavily regimented in some ways. I believe in recent years they have added 4-yr. engineering programs and have become a more or less conventional engineering school. The school is well-known in the immediate Boston area, not in my experience at all well-known outside the metro area. Probably still has an (outdated) reputation as a school that offers lots of 2-yr. degrees.

Thank you very much for the quick response
Did the people you know like it? How difficult is it?
I’ve heard that the professors aren’t that great, as in
some of them don’t speak understandable english
What say you?

Check this out about Wentworth. I heard it on the radio and thought it was very interesting. Click on “Listen” above the photo.

Extremely helpful, thank you so much!
That is great news to me!

I’ve met a few Wentworth kids. They’re pretty cool. I know nothing about the school though.

Dear roxy: to answer your first question, the people I knew who went to Wentworth were unfortunately a mixed bag. One guy I think didn’t care for it very much, and ended up transferring to another school pretty quickly; another guy liked it OK, but he was a 2-year degree guy; and the last guy doesn’t really count, since he was something of a nut and not what I considered a good engineer. Like I said though, I believe things have changed there quite a bit in recent years so their experiences would probably not apply. Is it diffficult? That’s a hard question to answer, since difficulty is relative to each individual. Most accredited engineering programs are pretty difficult for the typical student, and one thing I have heard is that “Wentworth makes you work”, whatever that means. Sorry I can’t be more definite.

Thank You very much, I really appreciate the info
I talked to the admissions office recently and architecture
isn’t open for spring transfer so he’d have to wait until
fall '08 anyway. Hopefully he’ll get into Northeastern! :)
