Any other rising seniors have no idea where to apply?

<p>Obviously Yale is a great school, but I feel like I would just be applying there for the prestige. It kind of stinks that I spent all of high school working my butt off, and now that it’s time to apply to college, I honestly don’t know which school would fit me best! I know that I want to major in a physical science, and I have a science “hook”, but I really underestimated how difficult this decision would be. Any other seniors having the same moral dilemma?</p>

<p>Hmm I’m not a senior (I’m an upcoming sophomore and I have a college list lol) but I certainly wish you the best of luck in your college search! If you have indeed worked your butt off, I am positive that you will end up at a great school that you love!
I could help you in your college search! Are you looking more into state schools, private schools…? Clearly, you want to pursue the science major path, I’d say Cornell is the best ivy for you. Yale, Harvard, Princeton, all these ‘prestigious’ ivies provide more of an intellectual, liberal arts education, and you don’t seem to want that.
DONT EVER apply to a school based on it’s prestige. Don’t. You don’t want to waste your time applying somewhere that you don’t even feel passionate about, and its obvious to admissions committee when a student is applying purely because of prestige.</p>

I would say it depends on the science. Yale is in the top 10 in Biology programs. :wink: Also, outside of Physics, I can’t think of another science where Cornell is ahead of Yale.</p>

<p>Thanks for the advice everybody :slight_smile: I’m planning on majoring in Chemistry- and I know that Yale’s program is very strong. Also, I’ve heard that the curriculum at Yale is a lot less rigid than that of other ivies.</p>

<p>While Yale does not have a core-curriulum like Columbia, it also doesn’t have Brown’s open curriculum. There are general-education requirements that must be met every year.
