No, you probably don’t need to. Most schools accept the SAT, although some midwestern colleges prefer the ACT. Also, your score is fairly high, so you should be OK. If you decide to invest any time in taking another test, I’d suggest you retake the SAT to try to improve your scores. But if you really hate tests, then its not absolutely necessary (it can’t hurt though).

It wouldn’t hurt, and you don’t have to report the scores. Also, since you have such an awesome writing SAT score, you wouldn’t have to take the writing on the ACT.

Different people do better on different tests. You might ace the ACT for all I know.

I agree with Shahein. Critical reading is essential on the ACT and your score there is high. My guess is that you will do better on the ACT for that reason. If not, oh well, so what, you do not have to report it. However, each SAT retake, SAT1 take is reported each time you send out the report; it’s all there for the adcoms to see.

you should probably take it, just for fun (just kidding!). but really, if you do better than you did on the SAT then it’s worth it. i did better on the ACT, especially in reading. my SAT reading was 710, and my ACT reading was 36! so it could really help you out.

If you’re like me and do poorly on the CR of the SAT, you should take the ACT because it is (supposedly, I havent taken it yet, but am planning to) easier.

Take the ACT. I got a 670 verbal on the SAT and a 36 reading on the ACT. However, it was my first real SAT (took the psat) and my third ACT. Also I live in the midwest, so my schooling has been centered around the ACT. In my opinion, the ACT reading was way easier.
