I realized doing this years FAFSA that I entered the incorrect information for the school year. DD20 should have actually been entitled to $6500 in federal Stafford loans, and only received $5500. (She does qualify for the subsidized loans)
As she has already entered her spring semester, is there any point in correcting this now?
If you don’t need the additional money, don’t bother. But even then, the aid office should be able to offer the addtional funds by looking at your daughter’s units completed, not through the FAFSA update.
That is correct. If she does want to borrow more, she can go to the financial aid office to complete a loan increase request form. They will review her situation and if she is able to borrow more based on grade in school, they can process her request (as long as she is still enrolled at least half time). They will make the necessary update to her FAFSA info on their end.
