Any Possiblity?

I’m an incoming senior looking at UPenn, Duke, and Wake Forest. I’m in the top 1% of my school, 5.05 weighted GPA, and a Cross Country runner. I’m not top national level as a runner, but came in 10th for the states and have above average times for a female runner. Howver, my test scores aren’t that high (1290 SAT). Despite my average SAT score, do i still have a chance of getting into UPenn Duke or Wake Forest with my academics/running???

You might be recruited if the schools are strong in running and need a runner.

i would try to retake the SATs

Have you tried the ACT yet? You might surprise yourself and score a lot higher, comparably, than on the SAT.

I would say Duke is a very very high reach… but if you raise your SAT score or get a better ACT score, I think Wake Forest could be in your range.

I’d say with a 1400 SAT (which you could get on a retake) and some good recs, Duke is possible.

I’d say you’re fine for Wake.

If you can get recruited at Duke and Penn your SAT may fly since your GPA is so high or theymake ask you to raise it just a little. Now is the time to run your stuff by the coaches, they’ll tell you what you need if they have interest.
