Any reason why there's no Campus Tours during the week of Feb 19 - 24?

We are from Washington State and the week of 2/19-2/24 is our school’s Mid-Winter Break time. We were planning to visit SDSU during the week, but it seems like there’s no tours offered in that particular week! Is it some sort of vacation time for SDSU as well?

It looks like they are filled. The black means filled OR unavailable. That week is a break for a lot of HS students. Give them a call…they may be able to squeeze you in.

Maybe because TOO MANY Washington students are visiting that week :frowning:

I hope they open more sessions or offer a waiting list so if someone cancels we can get in.

It may be worth a call or email to admissions to see if they can squeeze you into a tour.

You could Self tour.
We went to Long Beach State and self-toured because we couldn’t get a reservation. We ended up with the department chair of engineering.

Will we be able to get into dorm rooms or departments/labs if we self tour? Just looking at the buildings from outside may not be helpful.

To enter most buildings except public places (and dorms and labs are not) you need a fob to enter. So…no.

But you might not be getting into dorms anyway…for privacy reasons. You can view these on virtual tours on the websites.

Classroom buildings might be open, but labs likely won’t be. My kid was a stem major and we never were allowed in the labs…for good reason.

Do you happen to know any students who attend this college? If so, perhaps you can reach out to them.

I toured SDSU this previous summer, and we did not enter any buildings, save for the admissions building. The tour guides mainly led us around the campus and looked at buildings from the outside. As others have said, you can find floorplans of dorms & more on the SDSU website.

A self-tour shouldn’t put you at a disvatnage of experiencing campus, aside from the lack of interaction with people from the admissions office.

On S24’s tour last June we walked through a library and student store but no lab, gym or classroom areas. At the end of tour, our guide handed us off to an optional housing tour which was really short 1minute view of a sample room on south campus and Q&A. The website virtual room tours are much more useful.

The 2nd largest school district in San Diego county is on (ski week) break that week so many of them target that week for campus tours.

Thanks everyone for suggesting contacting the admission counselor. I emailed and the counselor was able to squeeze us in for an admitted student campus tour. She also suggested place to eat, place to take pictures, and place to visit in San Diego. Really nice!
