Well, quite a few of the schools we know for a fact to be excellent schools, we know for a fact, we can’t afford. One of d’s favorites - which is about 43 a year to attend - offered her 3500 a year. Yeah, well, no. We can’t cover almost 40000 a year, ain’t happening. Haven’t gotten news on program admittance yet but it kind of wouldn’t matter because no.

One school whose offer is entirely doable for us is U of Tampa. Looking at discussions about the school going back 8 or so years, there’s an awful lot of negative remarks about it, especially the academic quality of many of the students. I know it’s true that it’s what you make of it; but it’s also true there has to be at least enough bright and eager to learn students that you have a critical mass of some sort. My daughter isn’t a valedictorian and is not overly fond of math but she does have intellectual curiosity: she does crave learning and intelligent, stimulating discussion: and she doesn’t want to be the only person who gives a crap about learning anything outside of her major, in her school. From what I have read about Tampa, I’d be a bit concerned.

Does anyone know anything about the quality of the school overall, and the quality of the program itself? it’s a BA in MT.
