Any schools have Cybernetics programs?

Or Human-Computer Interaction?

I know USC does and it is pretty unique, but I am looking for something a bit less selective then USC.

For undergrad? I know Georgia Tech has an HCI program in their College of Computing but I believe it’s only graduate level.

UCLA has Cybernetics

Carnegie Mellon offers Human-computer interaction as a double major only. [HCII Academics & Admissions: Undergraduate HCI Major](http://www.hcii.cmu.edu/Academics/Undergrad/undergrad.html)

You probably are not going to find an undergraduate major that studies this. However, there may be graduate programs that do. Don’t despair, you needn’t wait until grad school to study these things. You certainly could and should get a research job in a lab working on this as an undergrad and perhaps even get yourself registered for some of the graduate courses in the area. For a smattering of graduate programs engaged in this type of research, go to [PubMed Home](http://www.pubmed.com) and search for cybernetics. It yields some 25000 papers. Check the abstracts for these papers to see who publishes a lot in the field. If you are interested, you can even check which journals are common for this topic and do some outside reading to develop your understanding of this field before you make a major life decision based on an interest in it. Good luck.

that is only biological cybernetics…

You never know, you could be the next (or would that be the first?) J.C. Denton.

Fair enough, I am a scientist and I didn’t even think about the possibility that somebody out there might be interested in something not pertaining to biomedical research.
Perhaps a better starting point would be the American Society for cybernetics.

UCLA’s cybernetics major is for undergraduates.
