<p>After few months of research, I have bought some nice cameras at pretty good prices. There was a tryout period and now I have settled with some nifty units. In the interim, I learned how to setup port forwarding, DDNS, SNTP, email and FTP etc etc.</p>
<p>This is just to trade notes with camera buffs out there. This is intended for the more challenging OUTDOOR Cameras.</p>

<li>I tried the Costco Lorex package and it really does not work in OUTDOOR situation. The power of the IR is too low to illuminate for my purpose.</li>
<li>Is 700 vtl the highest resolution for CCTV cameras? </li>
<li>Do we really need a 5 megbits IP cameras to take license plate number at night? Right now, the 1.3 megbits I have can take License plate alright during the day, but not with IR on.</li>
<li>Does high resolution cameras work with wireless LAN connections? I am not talking about the VGA type, but a 2 meg plus IP camera.</li>
<li>What is your experiences with PTZ dome cameras? Do they break down often? Obviously, its hard to implement LED night vision, what is youre experience with no or low lights situation?
Right now I am using a 56 led camera for night vision, what is yours and is it adaquate?</li>
