I’m taking the October SAT and going for (hopefully) 750 math, 760 reading, 800 writing, for a total of 2310, but anything over 2270 would be fine.

Comment who’s taking it and how you’re prepping!

Right here (actually aiming for a 2100).

Going through Dr. Steve Warner’s Advanced math book, PWN the SAT (math), Direct Hits Volume 1 and 2, and doing general practice tests for reading and math (from some I came across on the Internet and out of Princeton Review).

Anyone else dislike Barron’s SAT book? Some of the tests are more difficult and don’t represent the actual level of difficulty on real SATs (for math) in my opinion.

Hey there, I took the SAT in March scored 2080 (600CR/700M/780W)… I’m looking forward to taking the SAT in October and hopefully bringing that reading higher so that I can also get at least 2270. Considering my Writing score is set in stone and that I should have no problem scoring 770+ in Math, all I’m worried about is the reading portion /:

Reading is really hard to improve in my opinion( it’s not my native language). I’ve been taking practice reading sections almost every other day. I’d appreciate if you have any advice on that section.

yeah reading’s difficult too. i honestly just kinda gauge the right answer from what i’m reading. i dont know any strategies really, sorry
but yeah math is my main problem. i have a 710 (superscored with CR and W) and i really want to get it higher

I’m taking it! I got a 2240 in March, but sadly only got a 680 in CR (with a 760 in math, and an 800 in W). All I’m doing is learning a ton of vocab. If I can get all the vocab right on the next one, I should get around a 750, which would make me super happy. It would also be nice to get an 800 math (I got 1 wrong last time!)

nice! i got an 800 W too
got any tips for the math? i can never seem to do as well as i do on practice tests!

I’m aiming for a 2350+ . I need to work on writing (740) and perhaps reading (750).

My best tip for math: Do not make any mistakes at all. Just concentrate completely on the math problem that you are doing. -1 can bring you all the way down to a 760.

Going to be Senior next year and I am planning on taking the SAT one last time in October for Early Application deadlines. Aiming for a score deep in the 2300 range. I took it in May and got a 2170 (660 CR, 800 M, 710 W). So glad that I don’t have to worry about silly mistakes in Math anymore since my 800 will get superscored iA but I have a long ways to go. Also I usually miss like 4-6 in the vocab/sentence completion and recently I’ve been missing 3 passage based questions per test. Paragraph analysis questions sometimes seem to be really subjective to me and for whatever reason I can’t get perfect in writing. I can get different parts of writing perfect on different tests but never simultaneously lol. Like if I get perfect in paragraph analysis and sentence fixing, I’ll miss 2 error identifying (and vice versa) which is seriously frustrating.

yeah i have a 2230 now (710 math, 720 reading, 800 writing) superscored. I really just need to get my math/reading up and i can superscore for writing.

do you think highly-selective colleges look down upon superscoring? i know the SAT is just something they just look at to see your general range, but do you think they really go into the score and compare x superscore to x single date? sorry if that didn’t make sense i’m extremely tired from work hahahaha

Aiming for 2200 (800 math, 700 both reading and writing). Applying to Georgia tech and i already got a 2040(720 Math, 670 Reading, 650 Writing). I just took a practice test today and got a 770 math, 720 reading, not sure about writing though (don’t know about essay)).

good luck!^ anyone here applying EA/ED too? the scores are released a few days before the cutoff so it’s scaring me lol

I’m applying EA for Georgia Tech and they take all tests through the end of November for EA. I’m taking the SAT in October. Check your college’s website, and they’ll probably tell you what dates they will take your test for EA.

I got 750 writing (80/80 with a 7 essay-I froze), 740 math, and 640 CR in first sitting. hoping to bring up CR and essay (even if my writing score doesn’t get superscored, I just want to know I could do better than a 7…) hoping for 2200!!

I’m a rising senior and enrolled in a Kaplan SAT course, I’m planning to get a 2300+ on my October SAT from a 2030 June score.

I got a 2060 in June (670 M, 670 CR, 720 W-9 essay). I plan on applying ED to Johns Hopkins, so I am going to take the SAT in October.

Aiming for anything above 700 for CR and Math, and then an 800 in Writing.
