Any special advice for increasing chances to get accepted as a transfer student??

I’ll be a freshmen at a little ivy this year. My dream school has been yale and I obviously didn’t get in.
I’m wondering, with such low transfer acceptance rates, does anyone have special advice for increasing my chances at getting into Yale.
I really want to maximize my chances so I’ll obviously be getting into very good extracurriculars leadership positions and attempt to maintain a above 3.8 GPA while trying to get good recommendations.
Just any tips that are not mentioned on the official Yale page.

Never go to a school thinking you want to transfer out. That is a bad attitude to have and will prove detrimental in the long run. Focus on doing well and applying yourself so that you can get into a better graduate school.

Happyman2 is correct. Try to fall in love with the school that fell in love with you. You really can be happy at any school; find your niche and give it a go. That said, successful transfer applicants have been able to identify what academic programs/majors are available at Yale that are not available their school. For example, Yale offers an undergraduate theater studies major that many schools do not.

The admit rate is about 2%. If you **doubled **your attractiveness, that means you’d have an approximate 4% chance of getting in.

Don’t know about your statistical analysis skills but I’ll leave you to infer what you will.

Good luck to you but please listen to posts 2 and 3.

True. And some successful transfer applicants have had strong academics available in their area of interest at their current school, but had other compelling reasons and/or attributes that made them attractive to Y.
