It seems to me that, if you have taken Calculus AB in the your high school as a highest course and when BC is available in your school, you get admission in Spring program . Is this true ?

No…10char

Nope. My friend got into the EECS program for fall and he only took AB.

And to assume that spring admission is continent upon your calculus experience is irrational.

contingent* (can’t edit on phone, lol)

What it seems to me it if you have taken Calculus BC in the school , you won’t be spring admit, but if you have taken Calculus AB in the high school that Good luck : ( , particularly if your school is offering Calculus BC.

I for one am a Fall admit who is currently in AB, and my school offers BC. I know other AB students from my school in Calc AB. I agree, I highly doubt the admission comes down to something as specific as what math class an applicant is taking. You’re splitting hairs, here. Also, considering signing up for FPF, a fall program for Spring admits that will allow you to take classes at Cal.

He took AB Calculus as soph., BC Calculus as a junior and is in multi-variable calculus now in his senior year. He is a spring admit, so I’m not sure that calculus level is a factor. He also got a 5 on his AP Calc.

No, that wouldn’t make sense…

That would mean that he will be completed the equivalent of Berkeley Math 1A, 1B, and 53. If he attends Berkeley, particularly if he chooses the Fall Program for (spring admit) Freshmen, then he may want to check the http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-california-berkeley/1305840-freshman-math-faq.html .

my son is interested in the possibility of taking the H54 while doing FPF classes. Which you mentioned in that thread. How feasible is that and would that help him toward his astrophysics major?

Yeah, one of my friends took H54 while in FPF. It’s not unheard of. Help him toward his astrophysics major? I guess…since it’s one of the requirements for astrophysics. If you’re asking whether H54 is better than normal 54…H54 will prepare him better for the abstract thinking involved in the harder upper division courses.
