An example of this may be that if a ciollege has 10 adcoms reading essays & each applicant’s essays are read by two adcoms. If an applicant uses a public figure in their essay & three of the ten adcoms have a favorable opinion of this figure, but 7 have a negative opinion, the applicants chances are influenced by which two adcoms happen to read their application.</p>
