Any success stories for Fordham applicants with a 3.5-3.7 GPA?

From CA, likely to be a humanities major. Also, is it easier to get into Lincoln Center or Rose Hill or does location not matter? My kid likes both.

I think a 3.5-3.7 student has a solid chance at Fordham. Write any “optional” essays. Make sure to highlight service/volunteering because Fordham cares about that. My understanding is the admit rates between the 2 campuses are pretty similar so your student should choose whichever campus fits best as an individual (and it is very possible to switch after the fact.) Best wishes! My S22 is having a very good experience at Fordham LC. Feel free to PM me with any questions.

I agree a 3.5-3.7 student has a solid chance. Their most recent CDS (2023-2024) shows average GPA of admitted students is 3.69. My D24 has a friend who was admitted that year (HS class of 2023) and I know that the friend’s GPA was below 3.5 because their high school recognizes everyone with GPA of 3.5 or higher. She was admitted to Lincoln Center. It wouldn’t surprise me if some majors are tougher admits than others but their overall admit rate is 56 percent so it’s a selective school but not crazy selective. Good luck!

Thank you!

Agree, there is a reasonable shot. The entire transcript will be reviewed so things like rigor, weighting system (if the GPA is weighted) will be factors.

My S graduated from Fordham Rose Hill. There are notable differences between the two campuses so go with fit.
