We are visiting family out of state & will get to go to a 99th birthday party for an aunt!! Does anyone have a song that would be sweet to commemorate the occassion? Thanks for your help!!

“Just No Time at All” from Pippin?

I would suggest something that Aunt would be more familiar with from her youth – “Always” by Irving Berlin might be a good one.

Could someone find out what her favorite song is?

99 Bottles of Beer :]

I second Onstage’s suggestion of Always. Another favorite of mine - Mama a Rainbow. If you’ve been close to this aunt, change to Auntie, a Rainbow?

I was thinking “You’re Still the One” untill I looked up the lyrics, first verse definately NOT.

I sang LeeAnn Womack’s “I Hope You Dance” at my great grandma’s 90th birthday.

old people tend to like that song

Haha, I love that song!

Jay Z- I got 99 problems but a **** ain’t one.

Joking of course. The two songs that actually come to mind are two that I absolutely ADORED in eight grade.
*Tim McGraw- Live like you were dying
It could potentially send the wrong message, I’m not sure if you want people to think your aunt is dying. But the actual song really has nothing to do with anyone dying.
*Five for Fighting- 100 years
Again, it jumps to mind because 99 is so close to 100. But uh once again, though uplifting it kind of has a sad undertone.

I agree with onstage, try finding out something that reminds your aunt of a particularly good time in her life. Whether that time be when she was just a kid, or last month when something amazing happened to her. She’d really appreciate the thought put into that.

Congratulations to your Aunt!

I was thinking of musicals from her youth. So look to “No, No, Nanette” or “Good News” - perhaps “The Best Things in Life are Free” or “Lucky in Love” or (if you can) add a little soft-shoe to “Tea for Two”.
