Any tips for finding a job? (Computer engineering)

<p>I’ve attended five Career Center job fairs (starting in spring '07) and have applied to numerous positions, especially those for summer internships, via Cal Jobs. I’ve tried at least 50 employers all across the board so far, from the big tech companies (Intel, Sun, etc.) to small startups. I got a grand total of only two interviews–one last year, one earlier this year–and haven’t heard back from either one. That’s less than a 4% success rate of even securing a first-round interview.</p>

<p>That’s really strange. From a few family members and friends, I know that they only applied to maybe 4-5 places, and usually get 2-3 interviews and all get internships/jobs from those 2-3 interviews.<br>
No one applied to 50. Maybe you should focus on which job fits you the most, change your resume to match the job description and resend it.</p>
