Any tips for sending test scores? EXPENSIVE

I am applying to 15 colleges, so I’ll have to send ACT, SAT, and SAT Subject Test scores to each of them. That would cost waaay too much for me. What should I do? Do you have any tips? Do I have to submit the scores from the ACT/ COllege Board website before the Jan 1 deadline?

It takes about 2-3 weeks for the scores to be “received” sometimes. Pick ACT OR SAT, whichever is better but not both. The subject test issue is hard bc some say not required, but it helps when you have them with good scores.

Is there any school(s) you can eliminate?

Well - SAT and SAT subject tests can all be combined on one report for $12.

Some schools (like Columbia) let you self report and only send a final report if you join the school.

Also - if your deadlines are Jan 1 - then YES you need to get all the components of your application in by that time (unless the school says otherwise.)

If you can’t afford the $12 to send the test, how in the world are you able to afford application fees for 15 schools??? Sounds like your list is too big.

“If you can’t afford the $12 to send the test, how in the world are you able to afford application fees for 15 schools???”

and then there is tuition, fees, and room and board and miscellaneous expenses at one of the schools for at least four years (some students end up taking longer). $12 times 15 is less than just one book for some classes.

At a minimum I would run the NPC on all of the schools on your list and eliminate any that are not going to be affordable. There is no point in getting accepted to 10 unaffordable schools plus 5 affordable ones, when you could have just applied to the affordable ones.
