Any way to improve my chances of being taken off the waitlist at a boarding school

I recently received my admissions decisions for Kent, CT, and St. Paul’s, NH.

I only applied to these two schools and got waitlisted by both of them. Is there anything I can do to improve my chances of being accepted?

Some background information: I am a French student currently living in France, applying for the tenth grade. I am a legacy at both schools.

Also, does anyone know if I was waitlisted simply as a way of letting me down easy, since I’m a legacy?"

I can provide further information if needed.

Read the waitlist threads as you will get a clearer picture of likelihood, timing and next steps to consider. Sadly, Legacy is only 1 factor. There are many siblings not accepted to the same school either. Was BS the dream or just following legacy, as you can reapply next year and or broaden your list, considering best fits for uou.

Thank you for the reply , BS was the dream and it was one of my parents and other family members who attended the SPS and Kent , do you recommend telling one of the schools that they are my first choice?

honestly, I think you should. I also got rejected by most of the schools I applied to and got waitlisted at Exeter and Hotchkiss. I think that the schools would want to know that you’re still active and want to go to their school.

I was in the 84th percentile , I don’t have the exact score of the top of my head.
