Hello, I have a degree in Operations Management, I feel I could be held back a bit because it’s not “engineering” even though it covers many of the same topics. Any way to petition the school to upgrade it, or to add Industrial Engineering?
Obviously I know I would have to take additional math courses for it to be equal
Well, your degree is in operations management. You studied for a degree in operations management. There are lots of fields that cover many of the same topics and have some overlap, but that doesn’t mean they are the same thing. This is especially true if you went to a school that had both OR and IE and you chose OR.
If you want to do IE you may be able to earn a postgraduate certificate in IE, either at your original university or a different one. But I don’t think you’d be able to take a few classes and change your degree to IE.
