Any wine folks out there?

Hi folks! Anyone here into fine wines? I went to pull a bottle from a half case that I have had in my wine cellar and it turns out that they’re a whole lot more valuable than I realized. Might want to find them a better home. Does anyone know of a reputable place, preferably on the East Coast, who buys fine wines? Had no idea it was worth this! Afraid to drink them!

Here’s one find: :scream:

We’ve used Zachys but I don’t know if it will be worth your while with such a limited number of bottles. There should be an online form you can fill out to get a sense if it’s worth it.

Personally I’d drink it and enjoy it ; )

I used to live near zachy’s! I have four of those left in the half case that I had, and have several other bottles that should be worth not that, but a decent amount if I check. It’s just unlikely we’re gonna be drinking these and I would rather they find a better home.

My first thought was also Zachys. The physical store moved to Port Chester a few years ago but they are very involved in wine auctions.

I didn’t realize they had moved. They used to be in Scarsdale. Back in the day before we were allowed to ship line to our state, they would go next-door and take it to the Fedex packing store and just ship it  I’ll check with them thanks. Any other ideas?

Not on the east coast, but I think they are national, is the Chicago Wine Company.

Or you can bring the wine to a CC meet up LOL!

If the wine has been stored in a cool or temperature contolled cellar you might put it in a wine auction at Sotheby’s or some other auction house. You won’t have a lot of leverage selling to a store.

I often donate appreciated wine to local charity auctions. The wine often brings retail price, and the value of the tax deduction can be close to wholesale price of the bottles.

And every now and then I get invited to taste the wine that I donated at a dinner or tasting!

Agree with the suggestion to try an auction house. Look at Bonham Skinner. They do wine/whiskey auctions as well as antiques, art, furntiture, etc.
