Anybody have success/fail with AP Rescoring this year?

Just curious, anyone have success with AP Re scores this year? Still waiting on my Chem request… Anybody get theirs back yet?

Mine didn’t work out, but just think…1% of them work. now you only need 98 more people’s to fail haha. good luck!

Sorry to hear!! Seems like there have been less success stories this year. Still have my fingers crossed for that 2% :)

Any one else out there get their rescore results back?

I posted this on another thread too, but I think it will be good information for you guys! I haven’t heard of anyone who has had a successful rescore THIS YEAR. Idk, it does seem like CB has decided to quit being lenient  By the way, the story doesn’t end here. I won’t give up, because I’M SURE that something’s wrong. Plus, I still don’t have my FRQ booklet, which still gives me that slight hope that they lost it  I feel like I’m holding on to the only hope that I can possibly have at this point. Wish me luck!

"I agree with most of you on here. After reading this forum, I almost feel as if a TON of people get 1’s and 2’s on the AP Exam. But, nonetheless, I’ll tell you guys my story.

I got my AP Score for the AP Gov exam in mid-July. I opened the letter happily, looking forward to see the five that I knew I deserved; my happiness was cut short when I looked at the paper. A 2? HOW CAN I GET A 2? It was something that I couldn’t have conjured up in my worst nightmare. I was at the top of the class, won awards for my high grades in AP Government, and kept a consistent 97 in the class. Being a freshman in high school, I was unsure as to how to handle the situation. I freaked out, knowing that a 2 on one of the easiest AP exams will smash my chances of going to the Ivy League college of my dreams.

Well, after some research, I did what most of you would have done. I applied for a rescore and asked CB to send me my FRQ booklet. I waited for weeks and weeks alongside another hardworking friend of mine who also got a two. Eventually, we lost interest in waiting, and went on with our mass of schoolwork. Yesterday, I was leaving for a violin lesson when my instinct told me to check the mail. Just as I had suspected, a letter from CB was sitting right at the top of the stack of mail. It was the results from my rescore. I opened it, expecting CB to have admitted to their mistakes, but, yet again, I was disappointed beyond belief. The letter stated that I had gotten a 2, just as my original report had stated.

My first instinct was to suspect some sort of a scam. CB still hadn’t sent me my FRQ booklet (and yes, it’s been more that 5 weeks), and my friend got his report (stating the same exact thing) on the same day. His brother, by the way, didn’t take the course (and didn’t study for it!) but got a 4. It was mindblowing. After a couple of hours of crying my heart out, I started taking things into account. My parents had already sided with the CB, telling me that I must’ve done something wrong during the test. I mean, I guess it’s possible, but they don’t understand. I am a sheer PERFECTIONIST. I am literally OCD, making it hard for me to make a mis-bubbling mistake (if that’s what it’s called) even if I wanted to. I just don’t understand. What could’ve gone wrong? Even the worst students in my class came out with a 4. How can I get a 2? It’s literally driving me crazy, and it’s not one of those things that I can easily forget about and move on."

I’m in the same situation…even the worst students in my class at least passed I can’t imagine that I made that many ridiculous errors after studying and practicing so much…when I found out I got a 2 on ap chem I was absolutely horrified and shocked. Ugh…

No success stories this year?

@ StevenL: I’m very sorry to hear about your situation. I requested a rescore for my Calculus BC exam - my online bank statement shows that both the MC rescoring and the FRQ booklet requests were processed on August 4th - but so far I only got a letter saying that the multiple choice rescoring determined that the score was still accurate. But I still haven’t got my FRQ booklet, even though the letter says it was supposed to be sent in “approximately two to three weeks”. It’s been more than three weeks now. tennischicaxo’s post shows that she’s been waiting for her FRQs for five weeks. I suspect that our booklets may have been lost…

Hey Calgirl, I received the useless accurate score letter and also have not received my frq booklet…hoping it was a Collegeboard mistake and hoping for good news soon…How would they have not noticed that the frq books were missing when supposedly recalculating the score?

@ StevenL: They’re probably investigating it right now as we speak. At least, hopefully they are…

By the way, when did you request the rescore and the FRQs? Has it also been more than 3 weeks for you?

I requested the rescore and FRQ around 8/10 so today would be the 3 week mark… Oddly received the rescore results back first?

Receiving the MC rescore before the FRQs seems to be a trend. Given that there are now three examples of people who are still waiting for their FRQs in this thread alone, I’m seriously thinking something’s amiss.

I really hope so, or else I really just wrote my name and did half of my test…

Received the FRQ booklet unfortunately, still no idea what happened to get a 2 instead of a 4 or 5…

They lost my AP Lang essays. The sad thing was that that was the only exam I KNEW I was going to pass. I had those essays DOWN.

^Don’t they allow you to redo the essay portion or ask for a score based on only your MC if they lose your essays?

Still no sign of my FRQs. This is getting to be very frustrating.

They base it of your MC score. My MC score wasn’t nearly as good as my essay scores. We spent the whole years working on essays and barely did MC. When I took mock exams I got fours. I also calculated what my score on the Mock exam would have been had I just used the MC. I got a 2 then too.
