<p>So, I really want to get a masters in emergency management. I’ve been researching the different schools that have them, using the FEMA lists. However, I have had a great deal of difficulty figuring out which programs are well regarded and which ones aren’t. There is no type or ranking, or really any feedback at all about how the programs are regarded by the professional world. I was wondering if anyone has heard of any good programs, and why they are good. Thanks!</p>
<p>if your end-goal is government work, it won’t matter too much where you went to school, just that you did go. the federal government will even accept nationally accreditted prgrams, even if noboody else will. Go with the cheapest school that has national recognition (state uni) to be safe.</p>
<p>I would love to work for the government, but I don’t want that to be my only option. Non-profits and private organizations are also options. There aren’t actually many state schools with this type of degree. Are there any emergency management alums around?</p>
