<p>Don’t repeat obvious stuff, such as what you’d find in a school’s viewbook or on their top-level Web pages. Dig down into their Web site and find some specific (not obvious) resources that impress you (specialized libraries, new labs, etc.) along with a certain professor or two (by name) and their courses and fields of specialty. Colleges want to see how much time you’ve spent investigating them and how what you found out appeals to you. The more specific you can be, the better off you’ll be.</p>
