anyone apply to be an orientation counselor?

i just got an interview to be an OC from my written app but im a little nervous for the group interview…has anyone done it?

Somewhat related question… I know it’s too late now, but I was wondering what year do you have to be to apply?

to be an OC you have to be a second year, to be an orientation assitant it doesnt matter.

however, both positions are incredibly competitive. like there are 40 spaces for OC and 25 for OA. and for the OCs, half the spaces are taken by returners who are basically guarateneed spots. so you can guess what percent get in.

ouch…i think my chances are pretty shot then haha :(

It would also slightly depend on what major you’re in, because they want people from all majors. I have a friend who’s an OC, and he’s a CS major. He told me that not many CS majors apply for for OC, so when they do get a CS applicant, they usually take him/her.

Yes, they need OCs of all majors, so they can assign the students-couselors to as close to the major field as possible.

haha by CS major i guess you mean computer science and not comm studies like me (im actually comm and psych, probably 2 of the more popular majors) :frowning: haha

osession3…
