Anyone Apply to Lesser Known Schools with Higher Acceptances?

Wondering if anyone has applied to schools listed as accepting 40 to 50 percent or more of applicants? Are you as nervous as others during this wait? Or are you more confident you will get in?

We “cast a wide net” and have some schools that we hope are “safety’s” but I’m just as anxious. After all, what if we are wrong? We liked all the schools and would be happy to be accepted to any of them.

When you say “we” do you mean the family is going to college? There is a list of colleges that is published in May. It has some amazing colleges and universities on it. It is not just colleges that take most applicants and it is not filled with colleges you’ve never heard of. It comes out in May. It lists schools still looking for applicants. Yes their formal deadlines are long gone and probably most (but not all) of the scholarship money has been expended but there are many schools still looking for applicants in May (at least 50, of which you’ve heard of most). So, while nobody would feel good about being closed out of all the schools they’ve applied to, it would not have to mean not attending school in the fall.

Well, for a Boarding School, yes, it is the family joining the boarding school community so it is “we”

Applying to less selective schools does not make one any less anxious.
Good luck to you all!
