Anyone been accepted RD yet?

Just wondering. I know they don’t have to send a decision to you until April, but I’ve already got some decisions from other schools. I wanna know, that way I can go visit if I’m accepted.

havent heard back. where else have you heard from?

The earliest that I’ve ever heard acceptances go out is the last week of January. Those are scholarship candidates that applied by the early deadlines.

The only exception I know about is for NCAA football players. National Signing Day is February 4, 2009. Players, a parent or guardian and university representatives sign a legal document which will commit the athlete to a certain college. On that day we will know the 21-25 players who will enter SC in 2009. Already admitted for the spring of 2009 is incoming #1 rated QB, Matt Barkley. Matt graduated early from Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, CA. The last report I read was that Matt had a 4.0 GPA.
This rule also is followed at Vanderbilt, Georgia Tech, Duke, Univ. of North Carolina and other highly selective universities.
Some students have been informed early at other universities due to Early Decision or rolling admission notification dates.

If you have an early acceptance (probably from rolling admissions) from another university of interest, then I suggest that you visit USC anyways before making a final decision. Watch for places like american airlines.com where they have cheap week-end fares to see if you can find a cheap flight from your home town to L.A. My son loved the USC tour and it really sold him on going to USC. The tour was very professional. I read some where on college confidential that USC has one of the best college tours in the country. In hindsight, we should have visitied USC earlier in the college search rather than wasting money going to look at schools which were not the right fit.
