Anyone care to help me decide which essay is better?

Hi,

I’m writing an essay for the common app’s “background” option. I was wondering if anyone could read two drafts I have and tell me which one is better? They both have the same idea but use different tones to get the message across.

Am I supposed to post them here, or PM them if someone is interested?
