anyone choke?

I wasted like 20 minutes on the first passage. first time taking the exam, and wow, had to scramble my way through questions. I usually finish the english part with 5-10 minutes to spare, and this time, wow, just wow, choked hard. Did anyone else choke on English? I KEPT THINKING BACK TO THE DARN ENGLISH QUESTIONS THROUGHOUT THE EXAM.
English-questions weren’t hard, but seriously, darn brain freeze.
Reading-no comment, quite easy.
Math-no comment, mind revolved around the first part of English.
Science-was definitely easier compared to the act practice questions.

During the break I ate a cookie and had a little trouble getting it down, but I wouldn’t consider it choking.

What type of cookie did you have? Chocolate chip or…?

This isn’t Xbox live.

It was indeed chocolate chip. Also, thank you for pointing out that this isn’t xbox live. If anything, it’s playstation network

I was on a roll. After the English section I felt amazing at life, and that got better after math and then after reading and then I fell apart in science and then regained composure during the essay and felt good while I went to see Prometheus.

I had to pee the entire math section…I got one wrong cuz I was squirming too much in my seat to take the time to figure out. I’m really upset because it was the only one I got wrong and it was really easy! -------->■■■

Not to mention I couldn’t silence my stopwatch before the test so I didn’t have it for the science section! I ran out of time by the last passage and had to make quick educated guesses. I pprobably got like 4 wrong cuz of that. ------->■■■ more!

So all in all, unless they give a generous curve, NO 36 for me. :frowning: = waste of 50 dollars…no wait 70 cuz I had to pay the late fee.

Anyone else have a similarly awful experience?

it’s not that important to get a 36.

Yeah, it took me forever to finish the first passage. It didn’t help that there was another group taking the test in pretty much the same room that was about 1 minute behind us. It was in a cafeteria with half of a wall in between the two groups. So for the first minute, I was completely distracted by the proctor with the other group who was saying the exact same things my proctor said a minute before. Pretty much, I had to wait until she finished speaking to actually begin reading, and by that point I was completely zoned out.

EDIT: Oh wait, I meant for the reading section. I didn’t have problems with the English section.

This was my first time taking it and never had time/felt like studying. I didn’t completely choke but didnt do well. Everyone says its easier than the sat but it’s ridiculous how we have like 7 seconds to answer 40 questions on 1000 word passages.

I choked hard on the math section and it ended up being the only section I didn’t finish and had to guess on (on the other sections I had ~3-5 minutes to check work). Math was the one I really, really wanted to improve. Last time I had a 27 and spent all week practicing the math section. Now, I’ll be happy with a 30+ even though I was getting 34-36 on my last few practices. Ugh. At least I know that one, possibly two of my post-5-minute-warning panic guesses was right (thank you, 240π).

@Stew17
I felt the exact same regarding the math section compared to the other sections. I was thinking that -1 and -2 on math still might a 35 for this test.

@CSIHSIS Haha I went to see Prometheus after the exam too! What a coincidence. Definitely did not live up to expectations. Pretty stupid movie

@cookie dough. I be happy if u didnt meet ur expectations for the act. btw, chocolate chip cookie? you have awfully low standards. all high-class people eats almond cookie.

^ almond cookie?? Good Lord, that sounds delicious!

While an almond cookie may sound delicious, it should be noted that the chocolate chip cookies were sitting in the sun. This heated them to a perfect temperature, making them both gooey and pleasing. Chocolate chip cookies are also safer due to the high frequency of people with nut allergies. I prefer to practice safe testing.

starts drooling
Protip: Pack chocolate chip cookies for next SAT.
