<p>18 hours for a 6-hour drive, but back to UCSD in time for the first day of class. Had a snowball fight in Mojave and drove at, seriously, 1 mph in blizzard conditions. Some people just waited out the night for Hwy 5 to open.</p>
<p>I flew down, but my friend got stuck for 26 hours 
he said there were literally times when 20 min would past and no car moved. They would shut off the engine and switch drivers right on the highway without any problems. Needless to say he was late for his first day of classes…</p>
