I know exams were nearly a month ago, but I’ve been thinking a lot about the AP English Lit and Comp exam and I’m super nervous. I feel like the MC wasn’t bad, which could really hurt the curve. Worst case scenarios, my essays might be 7/6/6, best 9/7/8. I’m so scared that I’ll end up with a “high 4.” I got a 5 on AP Lang and I need a 5 to get credit at my university.

I’m really not asking for advice, but is anyone else nervous? I had to cram Wuthering Heights into Question 3 and I feel like my essay was well-written, but the novel choice might send an initial bad impression to the reader. Any thoughts, anyone thinking similarly?

Heathcliff, and the moment I used was when he was eavesdropping on Catherine and Ellen. I feel like it was well-written, but I’ve heard that WH is usually one of the overused novels. Hopefully they will be more lenient considering the narrowness of the prompt.

I got a 3 and used Jane Eyre…I was really confident, I was the top of my class, people were telling me I’d get a 5…I got the award for AP Lit, I always made 6-8 on my essays in class…I think my multiple choice let me down

I got a 3 and used Invisible Man. I got a 4 on AP Lang last year so I was hoping for a 4. A little disappointing but English is my worst subject.

@ violeta22…I used Jane Eyre as well and picked the “big moment” as when she hears Rochester’s voice…I got a 3 on the exam, and I misquoted something…I said “bone to bone, flesh to flesh” when it was “bone of his bone, flesh of his flesh”…Sigh, I hope that didn’t bring down my score so bad. Can we compare essays?

I got a 5, and am pretty happy. No freshman English for me! I used Jane Eyre as well for Q3, and talked about the moment when Jane chose to leave Thornfield. That poetry question was killer, though; I don’t think I mentioned a single poetic device in my essay, and instead focused on general analysis.
