The MTA, who operates the Long Island Railroad, will begin extensive work at Penn Station in Manhattan tomorrow morning. I’m not sure who dubbed it the “Summer of Hell”-- but that’s the name that all the newspapers and news reports are giving it.
I’m an outsider looking in-- no one in my household commutes to NYC. My brother in law does, but as an electrician he may be able to avoid the worst of the rush hours.
As much as I LOVE the hot, hazy, humid days of summer-- really!!-- it would help if the weather cooperated this summer to make this less awful for all the tens of thousands of people who will be effected each day.
