I can’t be the only one “addicted” to that show about addicts, their families, and getting them clean. It’s fascinating–you get addicts who, despite being drunk, on meth, bulimic (yes, they cover eating disorders, too), etc., who still come across as incredibly likeable people and addicts who, though you generally feel bad for them, manage to be totally selfish, immature, and unlikeable. Then there are the families who seem to run the gamet from sympathic to more screwed up than the addict and the interventionists who you come to either cheer for or groan at when they are revealed. Somehow, it’s incredibly engrossing, and the up-to-the-minute updates can sucker you in for many a rerun.

I’m still trying to figure out who it’s physiologically possible for Jesse to eat 9,000 calories a day and still have an incredibly fit and toned body, though. Apparently, thin bulimics are relatively rare, and Jesse’s binges were far from borderline–she even said she purged so she could “fit more food in”! Puzzles me to no end…
