Anyone else watching The Missing?

My husband and I are hooked on it. It’s a Starz/BBC production. Good characters, acting, and writing. You have to get past every parent’s worst nightmare of child abduction, though.

Yes…binged watched it last weekend, haven’t seen last nights yet. It’s very good, I’m glad it’s a limited series thoug because I don’t think I could take week after week of them trying to find out what happened. Also, it’s easier to watch that type of show now with the kids older.

We watch too. We use the closed caption feature on our TV to make the British accents easier to understand.

I agree it is easier to watch with older kids. I don’t think I could have when they were younger. We use captions too, for everything – have a son with hearing loss, but I have gotten attached to them myself.

I have hearing loss and wear aids. I use TV ears and they work beautifully…can hear every single thing. Mostly I use my minitek, but just when alone. I have found out the reason it’s so hard to hear the TV is because the speakers are behind the flat screens…not pointed out towards you. My dad has terrible hearing and bought a sound bar for his. He doesn’t even have to wear his TV Ears anymore nor turn the volume way up.

Oh, my son has cochlear implants. TV Ears would not work for him. We have used the cations for many years. He and his hearing brother both learned to read from captions.

Finally got caught up…can’t wait til Jan. 3 for the story to move along. Excellent drama, so wrenching. Of course I suspect the French police boss to be deeply involved…

I am hoping they can find the boy alive, a teen now, but one way or the other I feel like I just NEED it to be over…and the mystery solved.

@jazzymom‌ …there are only 8 episodes and I just watched the finale last week. Where do u live that you haven’t seen the finale yet. Also, I read that the next season is not a continuation of this story, but a brand new one.

I live in CA…the last episode I saw was “Concrete” and i thought there were two more to go. If this has already reached the finale, I’ll have to look it up on one of the On Demand sites. Do you know what the finale is titled?

Never mind…found the last two episodes on demand. The finale was done well…I know its sounds like 20-20 hindsight, but I had a funny feeling earlier on about the hotel guy. I don’t think they should have tacked on the Russia scene…especially with the drawing etched in snow. (How could he possibly have heard about it?)

Either let it be conclusive that the boy is dead…or let the sensational news story of the policeman’s involvement lead to more drawings found and have that lead to someone being turned in and the boy found. Showing the father continuing with his obsession with nothing more to go on just seems to ring false. Good show, though.

No spoilers, or put a mark first! I’m on the episode before Concrete. Watching it On Demand because got busy and forgot it was starting. Been waiting for this one.

Thanks for the hints on the closed caption. But how does that work with the English subtitles while they’re speaking French?

There was a marathon today on Starz through Concrete, which I taped so I could binge watch them through.

Can’t wait for the 3rd for Return to Eden, have it set on TiVo now.

So glad to hear the show is coming back with a new story. We enjoyed The Killing and were disappointed with the following seasons, so hope The Missing does not go that way.

Great show!

Spoilers…

I actually liked the Russian twist, but am left unsatisfied that was the ending. I want to know how he got there, and a proper ending. I know it was suspenseful and artsy, but was still disappointed. I like things wrapped up better than that. It actually makes me reluctant to watch more.
