Anyone else watching the Stanley Cup playoffs?

bumping up

Keping my fingers crossed!

The first period has been pretty exciting so far!

Wow. Hawks seem to be getting to the puck first. LETS GO FLYERS.!!!

I’m nervous, but I think the Flyers are lucky to be tied after one period. GO HAEKS!!!

Flyers are being outplayed. Always a step behind. No control of the puck. Ugh, Lets go Flyers!!!

The HAWKS are where it’s at, let’s be honest

^^^ Well, for the first two periods. Let’s see what happens in the third.

Nervous but hopeful!

They just showed them polishing the Cup on CBC. Did they show that to those of you watching on NBC?

Well, that may have been a little premature.

I believe they showed that during the second period.

Way to come back Flyers!!!

One thing I just noticed switching from CBC to NBC coverage is that there is a delay on the NBC coverage. Interesting.

I love how the cup gets “white glove treatment” at the game even though I saw on E! (the tv show) a picture of Justin Bieber posing with it and holding it with his bare hands!

ugh!!!

Ewww…why? That is somewhat disappointing.

:(

That is horrifying. Nothing against Beiber personally, but I don’t think a 14-year old who sings about “Shawties” should be allowed anywhere near that thing. :)

Phil Pritchard is the keeper of the Cup. He works for the Hockey Hall of Fame and travels with the Cup about 150 days a year. The Cup gets the white glove treatment from him because it’s tradition. When the Cup spends time with the players of the winning team, all kinds of crazy things happen to it. One player, I believe from the Hurricanes, ate Fruit Loops from it! For ceremonies, and certainly when the Cup is awarded at the end of the playoffs, they want it to be shiny and fingerprint free, at least until the sweaty players start hoisting it and skating around the ice with it. :)

I’m going to have a slice of Philly cheesecake. I hope it works.

^counteracted by my slice of chicago-style deep dish pizza :p
