Any other hockey fans here? This first round is providing much more interesting hockey than usually happens this early on. Lots of upsets, many overtime games, close scores, and truly superb play by some players. We get every game televised here, yay Canada!, and some nights it’s difficult to choose which game to watch. :)

Yep - lots of good and close games.

Did you see the Caps beat the Canadiens on Sat night in OT? That was amazing! (Not if you’re from Montreal though -)

I was at the Tank for the second Sharks-Avs game. What a wild game!

I have managed to recover from The Incident of Sunday night.

I must say I’m getting a little tired of hearing about Crosby on Versus every ninety seconds, even when he is not involved in the game they are televising.

Devils fans here…not looking good…

Black Hawks fan here. They need to get out of their funk. We have no hope for the Cubs, Sox, Bulls or Bears.

Total hockey family here. H grew up playing hockey- goalie- so if it’s on, we’re watching it. Doesn’t matter who’s playing, we’re watching. Even though we’re close to D.C., can’t say I’m a big Caps fan- can’t stand Ovechkin. I’m happy so long as the Red Wings or the Pens are still in it.

justamom, yes, we did! We live in Toronto so every year have to live vicariously because the Leafs never make it to the post-season. My H is a longtime Montreal fan, though he remembers the good old days and isn’t crazy about how they’ve played in recent years. They’re playing better tonight but who knows how it will end.

Cardinal, have fun at the games. How disappointing The Incident must have been! Have to say that I never tire of hearing about or, better yet, watching Sidney. He has truly been spectacular in this opening series. I know I’m biased but I think any reasonable fan of the game would have to admit that. :)

Rodney, I grew up watching the Flyers but, like my H, I’m not crazy about them nowadays. I also have a soft spot for the Devils because the original Jersey Devils were my first love in hockey, back in the day.

gloworm, the Chicago-Nashville series seems to be a surprise to many hockey fans. Here’s hoping that the Black Hawks wake up. Same with Buffalo v. Boston. They had a 2-0 lead tonight and Boston has just quickly tied it up.

Both games tonight are now tied 2-2.

Tied!

Thanks for mentioning Versus. Last summer we lost that channel due to a fee dispute, so I had not looked there in a long time. We now have it. Woo hoo!

He’s far and away the best player in hockey. Let’s Go Caps!

I’m torn between the Sabres, Blackhawks, and Kings, for various reasons. H & S are at the Kings game tonight. I get to watch on TV…sad.

Will someone please remind my team that a game is 60 minutes long, not 40??? That and the “incident” of our best player getting injured has hurt…but that is playoff hockey.

If the Sabres don’t survive this series I guess I would root for anyone BUT the Penguins.

No fair, blankmind.
I’m waiting for that game to come on but first, I’m hoping for the Sabres to win in OT!

2OT.
I have to turn in. I’ll have to check in with you guys tomorrow at 4am when my day begins.

ooh, Sabres in OT, I’ll have to come back to the Kings game later!

Oh craaaaaaap. Back to the Kings

My sentiments exactly. Damn those Bruins.

Let’s Go Caps! Rock the Red!

Definitely some unsatisfying outcomes tonight.

hoping this might be the year for the caps, despite the mediocre defense and questions at goalie.

Another worried Devils fan here. My H grew up a Rangers fan, but when the Devils began in NJ, very near our home, just as our first kid was born, he switched so they could grow up going to games. Both kids are rabid fans, especially S, and have been to numerous games (including two season ending playoff games :(). Hating Rangers is now the family default position, but we all have recently switched that to the Flyers.

Who look pretty good right now, dang it.
