I would have liked to see the Howlin Wolf Gang at the Bluesfest at 5pm too. It just didn’t work out. My sister is the biggest hockey fan in my family and she had to work Friday. We were in her SUV for the campus run. We drove on Lake Shore Drive coming back, so she could see the Chicago skyline lit up for the champs. And Sapling, true to form, stayed back at his dorm. Sleeping in today and latter guiding another student to O’Hare on his way home. Happily, his dorm allows over summer storage in the basement.

We were visiting Chicago the night of the Blackhawks’ win. My H and I went to ESPN Zone off Michigan Ave to watch the game. Unbelievable experience and I am not even a hockey fan. My H walked over the next morning to watch the parade and stood at the same spot for over two hours. He’s never seen so many people in his life and there were many ambulances picking up people fainting from the heat and humidity. Meanwhile, being the smart one, I watched the parade from the hotel room tv. We had a great time in Chicago, beautiful city and of course the Stanley Cup experience is icing on the cake.

And if you return to Chicago this week, that ESPNZone won’t even be open anymore.
Glad you were here for such a great time.

Yesterday the Cup and the Blackhawks were at the Cubs/Sox game. Today’s paper has a memorable shot of all three teams posing with the Cup.

Officially fifty people went to hospitals from the rally. Fifty out of two million. Don’t wear a black T-shirt when it is hot out and humid out. Bring frozen water bottles and bandanas.
