Anyone else watching the Stanley Cup playoffs?

I would love to see that match up.

We were at the Pittsburgh-Montreal game last night. Marc Andre Fleury played a great game and it was nice to see a very good effort from Montreal. This series has turned out to be much more interesting than anyone could have anticipated. Go Pens, just one more!

alwaysamom, that’s been a good series, I think. I’d be happy with either team advancing.

Well, in our house, we’re kind of split. I’m 100% for the Pens and my H is a Habs fan. He grew up in Montreal and it’s a life-long love. We have friends whose son plays for the Pens, which is why we’re in Pittsburgh and saw the game, so I’m cheering for them. It has definitely been a fun series!

Ha, too bad our husbands can’t watch together! H was a goalie through college so he loves watching Fleury and Halak. But having spent a fair amount of time in Canada he’s partial to the Habs as well.

The Penguins play half the time as though they know they aren’t full out and then when they are trying hard it takes them a while to get in sync.

I’m impressed with the Sharks and Blackhawks. The Sharks have a lot of talent and I like their system. When I watch the Blackhawks, it looks like a Toews highlight reel.

H is going to the Blackhawks game tonight! First game he’s been to since we’ve been in Chicago.

I just have to say I loved reading through this thread and wished that I had found this earlier.

I am a bruins fan myself and I’m so proud of how they’re doing…

Also, you know what I don’t understand, why the NBA playoffs are more popular. I mean the NHL playoffs are so much more exciting and nervewracking!

Split household here too. Fang Jr and I have been Sharks fans since he started playing hockey at age 4. But with his brief time in college in Michigan, he became a… no, not a Wings fan, that would be going way too far, he certainly wouldn’t descend to that abysmal depth, but a Hawks fan. So far we’ve been supporting each other’s team, but next round that could change. :)

Having watched this Sharks-Wings series, I continue to think the Wings are just a tremendously good hockey team. And Datsyuk is just astounding.

Maybe I’m just a west-coast homer, but all the west coast teams still in the playoffs (plus Detroit) look better than all the east-coast teams. Whoever wins the West will have had to scratch and claw through two of the Wings, Sharks, Canucks and Hawks, whereas the Eastern Conference team will have had a relative cakewalk. If they re-seeded all eight teams together after the first round, the third round would have been Sharks/Wings, Hawks/Canucks, and the four eastern teams would have enjoyed a third round of tee times.

Welcome smski. I don’t think there are too many Bruins’ fans here, so happy to have another supporter of the Bs. I have also been pleased by how they have played this year and I can’t wait for Monday night’s game. Tuuka Rask is AMAZING! Nerves of steel for the young rookie.

No…I’m not watching the Stanley cup playoffs…and I’m not watching the NBA either. Both should have ended in March…sorry…winter sports. Once baseball begins these others should be DONE. Too much post season playoff “stuff”. Seasons are TOO LONG.

The playoffs have been really good this year. I’ve managed to enjoy them even though my teams (Toronto and Edmonton) were the worst in the NHL this year :(

Oh my goodness, a Toronto fan AND an Edmonton fan? That’s too much pain for one human to bear.

Well, I’m a sports junkie, and this year with my daughter on SA and not doing her EC, I need to feed myself somehow. I was telling H last night that I think the hockey players are better athletes than bb players, and we won’t even talk about baseball players.

CF, it’s nice the 'Hawks have West Coast fans.

smski,

Welcome, and maybe the Bruins and Blackhawks, 2 of the original 6 will play for the title, but from my side, the Sharks will be a lot (maybe too much) for the 'Hawks to handle.

Only a few minutes into the game and we are losing.

2-0 Ughh…

Chicago is going to need to really step things up next game.

So will Vancouver. Every game gets harder.

Each of these teams has lost 2 games at home. Tuesday will be hard for both, I agree.

I’m rooting for Chicago… to win in the seventh game with eight overtimes.
