Anyone else's' official financial aid differ from the one in April?

April:
Academic Competitiveness Grant for First Year: 750 unconfirmed
CAL A Flip: 10,302 unconfirmed
Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarship: 2,500 accepted
Federal Pell Grant: 5,550 accepted
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant: 500 accepted
UC Irvine Grant: 3,060 accepted

Total Gift Aid: 22,662

Official(received on August 2nd):
Academic Competitiveness Grant for First Year $750.00 Confirmed
CAL A FLIP $10,302.00 Confirmed
Federal Pell Grant (01) $5,550.00 Confirmed

Total Gift Aid $16,602.00

I was wondering if it’s normal for Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarship, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant, and UC Irvine Grant to be left out in the final financial aid package. I was also offered work-study back in April but the offer is no longer in my financial aid, what does that mean?

Did they ask you to send in verification forms after April?

If so, my guess is that some info had to be changed, either on the FAFSA or there is probably some other issue.

I would try asking this in the financial aid forum, which can be found on the left side of this page.

Did your parents make more money this year? or did your efc score change dramatically?

Also the chancellor’s scholarship might be a one shot deal and awards are posted in march

I did have to send in verification forms but my parents actually made a little bit less money this year compared to the last. This fact confuses me even more. It doesn’t make sense to take away Chancellor’s Excellence Scholarship, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant, and UC Irvine Grant all together.

I would call them and try and ask them about it. The chancellor’s is awarded once a year so thats to be understood but the UC irvine grant might be granted? no idea call them

Most of my aid was cancelled due to some tragic error on my mother’s Tax returns. My guess is that they either asked for special forms you never sent in or something changed on your parents’ official tax returns.
