I’ve never rented from these companies, but they have less expensive rates for an upcoming trip to Denver.
I’ve always had very positive experiences with Advantage. The company is owned by Hertz. I almost always rent from either Advantage or Enterprise.
Last year I rented frm Advantage at DIA, and their rate was not bad for the SUV I wanted on that trip. DIA is a pricey place to rent usually, so was surprised and pleased. A month ago I rented from Payless at SFO, and the car rental place was down the 101 from the airport. Not very time efficient, but the car was fine.
We’ve rented from Advantage several times in Chicago. Location is not near the airport where all the other rentals are - it takes a few minutes to get there. They also have really slow service at the location (usually only one person at the counter and several people in line). Cars were fine - but they are a bit picky about looking at damage/scratches etc.
Recently discovered rental cars through Costco! Prices are so much better than renting through any of these companies! Usually get Alamo, Budget or Avis through Costco.
I switched from Budget (DFW) to Enterprise. It took forever to get a Budget smoking charge of $250 off my vehicle and we NEVER smoke and H was driving it. Enterprise in PIT and other places have been very good. We did have to use Budget in Iceland (only option) and it worked out fine though.
I think we have rented from both. Never had a problem. Do check about on and off airport though, if you care about the time to transition.
I think all the rentals from DIA involve taking a shuttle to the car rental places that are about 3 miles from the terminal. You are still on airport property but not at the terminal. All car rentals at DIA are expensive. If there is any way you can rent once you are in town it is cheaper (but that is a pain in itself, as getting to town is expensive).
The good news is that even the gas at the Conoco station near the rental returns is about $2/gal right now.
Twoin is correct. All rental cars are a shuttle ride away at DIA. The good thing we experienced when traveling with a disability parking hang-tag, a Hertz driver took us (in our rental car) to the terminal and dropped us at the right spot. He managed handing our bags over to the gate-check person and helped our family member into a wheelchair.
