Anyone feel like they've found their "peops" recently?

The transition to college can be a time of discovery (for everybody, including parents), so is anyone feeling like they have finally found “their people”?

This could have been at an admitted students weekend, in your new dorm, a class in a department that you’ve tried for the first time or simply a new circle of friends.

Don’t be confused by the feeling you get for ivy-covered walls. This is about the people, not the architecture, the weather or the location. I’d also say that it’s hard to realistically identify with an entire student body, so this is more about finding a smaller group of a hundred or less that seem to express the kinds of feelings you have.

I haven’t. So far, I’ve met only a handful of future students at the University I’m going to, but we didn’t get too close.

Did you go to a departmental presentation or open house?

I started volunteering at the animal shelter near my college in October, and the people there are all very nice and friendly, and they really care about the dogs. Haven’t made any new BFFs yet, but friendly acquaintances / rides back to campus are nice to have too.

It was more of a departmental presentation.
