<p>Does anyone who have used REA’s AP ENGlish Literature/Composition practice tests to be ridiculously difficult and frustrating? The poems are like 1.5 times longer than actual SAT Poems, the passage questions are purposefully made ambiguous so that you will get many wrong, and the poems have way too many allusions and background requirements you need to know. I really want to do well on AP English Lit, but I need to know what others think about this REA book so I can at least know how well I am doing right now. </p>

<p>I was just doing a search of old threads about AP Lit because I had the same question. I’m getting a ridiculous number of questions wrong on the practice tests, and considering the fact that I’m taking the test tomorrow, I’m not exactly feeling confident here. But I agree. The prose passages and poems are all incredibly long, and I think many correct answers are arguable. </p>
<p>This is driving me crazy because from a quick survey of the consolidated AP book suggestions thread, I got the impression that REA was the way to go for Lit. But I’m really getting the impression that it’s not an accurate reflection of the real test at all.</p>
<p>I did the sample MC questions provided in the syllabus on collegeboard.com awhile ago, and I did much better on that than I’m doing on these practice tests.</p>
<p>the test is hard…ppl are supposed to get alot wrong. my class took the 1991 MC exam and i got the highest score on it: 41/53. it is a hard test, and it is one of the hardest 5’s to achieve. the worst part about it is that there is no real way to get better at it, just a test on critical thinking skills and writing.</p>
