My DD’s team is attending a national championship in Dallas this year and we are tagging along for support. The team is staying at the Embassy Suites Dallas Park Central hotel on N. Central Expressway in what appears to be the North Dallas area. Last year they stayed in Arlington near the sports complexes, so I’m unfamiliar with this area. Is this a ‘safe’ area? I don’t mean any disrespect to anyone, I just truly don’t know anything about the area. The coach books the hotel so I don’t have much choice in the matter. Just wondering if I would be comfortable at a convenience store in the area at night, or if I need to get supplies before we get there! Most of what we do will be at the convention center in Dallas–attached to the beautiful Omni that won’t host the group:(–so I won’t be spending alot of time at the hotel in general.
That’s a very nice area. Nothing to worry about except to make sure to get your toll tag if you want to rent a car. You may want to take the toll road if you don’t want to get stuck in traffic on 75.
It is very close to a nice running/biking path and a large hospital. It is a fairly upscale area. Tons of good places to eat within a mile in almost all directions. Especially check out the Preston/Forest intersection. Restaurants, Whoke Foods, great bakery, 7-11 etc.
Nothing to worry about. You’re totally good there.
It’s within a couple of miles of my old Dallas house! It’s a great area.
