I have participated in a variety of extra-curriculars, but have not held any leadership positions. I have not won any major awards either, only commonplace ones like piano merit awards.

I never really know what constitutes major, but my only large-scale award was National Merit Commended, which is hardly even a thing.

You're not sunk without a billion awards and every single leadership position imaginable. From what I know, Chicago looks at leadership positions less than most of its peers. If you have them, great. If not, they'll look to other parts of your app to see where you ARE strong.

I got in in the class of 2014 with almost no leadership positions/major awards. Had a few minor positions in clubs, and won a few decent awards, but nothing mind-blowing that would sway the admissions office.

No major awards (just stuff like AP Scholar and Principle's List for gpa) but I had a few leadership positions
