Anyone know about petition to drop grades from 5/6 years ago?

Hi everyone,
I’m sure this has been beaten to death… but I can’t seem to find any info on the subject.
When I started school after highschool I wasn’t serious at all and I received an F and two C’s. The college I’m at now won’t allow me to petition them because it has been over 18 months. I heard that there is a way to drop them off though?
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!

you could just retake the classes. Although if you absolutely don’t want to i completely understand where you’re coming from. I only got 2 Cs in all of my time in CC (in Hist. of Doc. Film and Biology) and i wouldn’t take either again. The first because it was a completely biased class to student who already naturally had the ability to analyze art in film, and the second because it was the hardest class i ever took at CC (was 2% away from a B sadly)

talk to your counselor about academic renewal. that will neglect the grades you received anything over 2+ years, however, it will still be on record. But, your GPA won’t be considered :)

MAke sure the classes you get academic renewal for are NOT major prerequisites. Once you get academic renewal you can’t retake those classes again. Maybe you could, but it would take an appeal process that could extend your life at the college/university you want to transfer from.

You mean you can’t take them again. If you are so good then you must have thousands of film critic fans already or written a best seller! No, your right, it must have been the teachers fault for not seeing your unique as a snowflake innate super human powers.
