Anyone pressured around here?

So far I’ve been living on extreme sleep deprivation, loss of appetite entirely (which is actually good for my figure; I dropped five pounds since two months ago :D), loss of hair, loss of temper frequently, and an overabundance of unexplained tendencies to get mad at nothing or laugh randomly.

I’ve characterized this as the collegebound symptom.

Does anyone else have collegebound symptoms? Feel like sharing the reasons?
Note: this is not a complain thread. And no badmouthing parents.

Well, as for me, I’ve never been this pressured in my life. I’m pressured because my parents had already sacrificed so much for me, so the least I could do is get into a good college with a scholarship–which, considering me, would take massive amounts of work. Also I’m pressured because I don’t have nearly the grades I need or the EC I need. Basically, I’d have to work my butt off.

I think most of the students on CC are pressured, haha.

I am mostly stressed because my school (an arts/science magnet) is extremely busy. ALL the time. As a vocal music student, I am constantly preparing for the next region/state/solo/festival competition or the next community performance (we perform frequently with the Clinton presidential center, the symphony, et cetera).

Add that to Girl Scouts (I am a counselor at a camp as well as active in my service unit/council), Quiz Bowl (we meet twice a week and go to EVERY tournament possible), Young Democrats, Amnesty International, Gay/Straight Alliance, NHS, and Beta Club… just to name a few. And in the spring, I have the music, so rehearsal until nine…so add that to the list.

… that doesn’t even include classes. I wish I had a social life. :/

Yes! Same here…too much EC activities are really weighing down on me: environmental club, french club, music club, nhs, rocket club, knowledge bowl, etc. etc.
I had to temporarily drop piano practicing because I have to study for those cursed AP exams. And all the cursed SAT ones too.

I feel you on that one. I still haven’t taken the SAT or ACT yet (other than when I was in seventh grade…). June, it will happen. Hahaha.

You took the ACT and SAT that early? Wow!

I took my SAT already and did pretty good. But still, I have IB and AP and the SAT II’s and I’m planning to retake the ACT for a better score. The thing is, I haven’t started studying yet, and it’s like 12 days away. All of them are, actually…

I took the SAT in seventh grade as part of Duke’s TIP program. I haven’t touched it since then and it doesn’t make a difference in admissions at all.

Yeah, I’ve been pretty proactive about studying for APUSH, but AP Language is scaring me a bit.

I’ll take my SAT II’s at the end of the summer.

I took the APUSH last year, and I got a 3, which I am super proud of, because for some reason, our entire class had an average of 2. We usually get an average of around 3 or 4, and a vast majority gets 5’s. Who knows, the APUSH exam last year was just dumb. On another note, I didn’t study. Zilch.

I thought AP Language would be okay. AP Literature is worse…it’s like an exam to test your BSing abilities…

I took my ACT last year with my friend and the score was unmentionable, actually. I actually walked out thinking that I did great. And then it was downhill from there. Lol…

I hope I will do well on the APUSH exam. I got a three on the WHAP exam with minimal studying (and wrote one of my essays about the wrong region of Asia - SOUTHEAST Asia rather than EAST Asia will haunt me forever).

I hope AP Lang is okay, too, because our teacher has… well, not prepared us. English is my strongest subject.

I’m generally pretty relaxed about everything, but right now AP testing’s making me really nervous. I think I studied less for my six tests combined than for my only test last year (WHAP). :P

This is CC during AP exams. A more appropriate question would be “Anyone NOT pressured around here? 'Cause if you’re not, you’re going to a community college.”

I’m so chill. I have no stress, I just like reading this stuff

Lol, I remember this time one year ago…picking up a review book over april break and studying for AP Comp Sci AB!

Too bad I ended up getting a 4, and the preparation took away valuable time that could have been spent learning to write in the USNCO Blue Book.

I’ve just started studying for the Physics C E&M exam. I haven’t taken the class, and my prep book can’t get any worse…I think I’m balding.

A 4’s really good, piccolojunior. And the USNCO?

Dude, PShap91, are you serious?

Not if you want to win $2000.

Flawed and will have some competition (pun unintended) next year, but it’s the only form of “chemistry olympics” out there.

Wow! that’s really good piccolo junior!! That’s really funny, because I live a couple miles away from the Air Force Academy, and frankly I didn’t know the USNCO existed. Until now…

Obviously you’re much more ambitious than I am. Good luck next year…hope you don’t start balding like I am. :D

With grades, I pressure myself. My parents don’t tend to put pressure on me for this reason. I’m not too stressed now except for the fact that I don’t understand what’s going on in spanish (a first this year). Finals stress me out, but those are a month away.

Yeah, but my GPA isn’t all that great because of it

ahhh the pressure. I graduate in a week, and I have AP tests, finals, senior project due (that is not even close to being finished), and a massive book to read. And you know what? Even with this pressure, I really could care less. I watched 8 episodes of Kyle XY (great show, btw) and am uploading pics to facebook. Yay for senioritis!!! I feel bad, because last year I was studying for AP tests hardcore for 3 weeks straight. This year, I haven’t even attempted studying those. Hehe
